Meet John Barrington AM
John Barrington AM has spent decades at the intersection of business, medical research and the arts, from founding Barrington Consulting through to co-founding ASX-listed Artrya Ltd, and taking on leadership roles at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, the National Portrait Gallery and the Perth International Arts Festival.
As a board member of Quantum Australia, John explains how quantum computing stands to solve problems no classical computer ever could, from disease modelling to climate science, and the cybersecurity questions it raises for organisations right now.
He makes the case that art and science have never truly belonged apart, pointing to Da Vinci as proof, and argues that as AI takes on more of our tasks, distinctly human qualities like empathy and creativity will only become more valuable.
